In 1992, the seventh Jordan was developed while MJ won his second ring and sixth scoring title. The Air Jordan 7 made its way up when Michael Jordan joined the Dream Team and made it to the Barcelona Olympics. A special release of the shoe was seen wearing MJ’s Olympic jersey number, 9.
Looking back to its premier release, the Air Jordan 7 was showcased in five different colorways. A pair in White/Light Silver/True Red was the first to see MJ’s world, followed by the Black/Light Graphite/Bordeaux, Black/True Red, and two more others. With all these blending, Brand Jordan made it clear to its followers that its designer, Tinker Hatfield has been doing great in color coordination.
Aside from the shoe’s exterior, the brand also integrated the Nike Huarache Technology for an enhanced fit. Based on running shoe technology, the AJ7 set a new standard in comfort and light weight with its neoprene sock liner.
The traditional scene having the Jumpman logo usually seen on the tongue and heel panels had changed because on the AJ7, it appeared on the ankle area. What was present on the heel is the diagonally patched number “23″. Above this new logo is a loop that serves the basic handling function. In an unexpected twist, the shoe took its vibrant design cues from the West African tribal art.
Like the other Jordans, the AJ7 had undergone retros and at some ends, like the first Air Jordan, it also received criticisms. But for the MJ supporters’ point of view, all those issues were established by those who were at any reason went envious of what His Airness has achieved.
